Use this worksheet to retain wall measurements and opening decisions before preparing a masonry quantity schedule. It separates the wall-area takeoff from subsequent unit, grout and reinforcement calculations.
Measure each wall type separately
Record the wall length, height, specified assembly and drawing reference. For a simple rectangular wall, gross area is length x height in consistent feet. Record openings and the project's measurement convention separately before calculating a net area. Do not combine masonry types or assume one opening-deduction rule applies to every contract.
Establish the material basis
Net wall area is not automatically a block, brick, mortar or grout quantity. Record the specified unit dimensions, bond or assembly and applicable product yield. Separate special units, reinforced or grouted cells and accessories where the drawings identify them. Keep purchasing allowances explicit rather than burying them inside the measured area.
Use and review the file
The CSV is a blank measurement record without formulas, default material yields or prices. Check any calculations you add and retain the source of your assembly assumptions. Reconcile adjacent wall segments, returns and changes in height before transferring quantities into the BOQ schedule. The masonry calculator can support a stated geometric input, but does not select the project's measurement rules.
