Use this worksheet to preserve the measurement basis for each roof zone before assembling a roofing quantity schedule. A roof plan footprint, sloped surface and layered roof assembly should remain distinguishable.

Identify what the measured area represents

Record the drawing revision, zone, roof type and whether the area is a plan measurement or actual roof surface. For sloped work, use supported dimensions and the agreed slope basis rather than treating the footprint as the finished area. Separate canopies, distinct elevations and roof zones with different systems.

Measure layers and linear details independently

Identify membrane, insulation and other specified layers by system. Measure flashing, parapets, curbs, penetrations and terminations using the appropriate lengths or counts. Do not assume that multiplying one roof area establishes every accessory or edge condition. Separate tear-off and existing-deck work from new installations when relevant.

Record allowance and revision decisions

Keep net area and any contractor-selected cutting, lap or purchasing allowance separate. The CSV has no formulas, standard waste percentage or supplier prices. Check added calculations in your working copy, and reconcile revised zones before carrying quantities into the BOQ. The roofing calculator is a limited quantity aid, not an assembly or purchasing approval.
